Philosophy

My personal experience of integrating my body into learning transformed my way of being in the world. Through embodied inquiry and body-oriented practices, we discover meaning through distinctions in personal sensations and cultivate capacity through movement. Tapping into our embodied wisdom increases the capacity to learn quickly, lead masterfully, and transform challenges into unexpected opportunities.

Experience

Luann’s coaching philosophy focuses on client discovery through embodied inquiry and body-oriented practices. Tapping into embodied wisdom increases the capacity to learn quickly and lead more skillfully. Working with and through the body, she helps clients uncover new distinctions and meanings. Cultivating embodied awareness, clients move unconscious embodied wisdom into conscious embodied understanding. Embodied awareness expands choices for goal-aligned responses rather than automatically reacting in ways that may be contrary to our values.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Barndt completed her doctoral research Exploring, Embodying, Enacting: Transforming Through the Experience of Integrating the Body in Learning. Recognizing the importance of neuroscience in coaching and learning, her passion is furthering our understanding of the relationship between embodied practices and awareness, cognitive functioning, emotional regulation, interactive resonance, and energy patterns.

On a Personal Note

As a retired US Coast Guard Captain (O6) with Command experience, Luann is a proud veteran, married to a veteran, and mother of a US Army soldier and a US Navy sailor. Luann lives in Northern Virginia. As a PADI Divemaster, she volunteers as a Diver at the National Aquarium. She serves as a Coast Guard Lady at Arlington Cemetery.
